UN Civil Society Conference
The United Nations Civil Society Conference, formerly known as the UN DPI/NGO Conference, is the premier civil society event on the United Nations calendar. It is organized by the Department of Global Communications (DGC) in cooperation with the Global NGO Executive Committee (GNEC). Together, they bring together representatives from civil society organizations (CSOs) associated with DGC as well as those holding consultative status with ECOSOC. The Conference serves as a global forum where non-profit, voluntary citizens’ groups — active at local, national, and international levels can engage directly with the United Nations system.
It gives civil society organizations a valuable platform to bring a global perspective to some of the most pressing issues of our time, from climate change and human rights to disarmament, global health, and sustainable development. Through plenary sessions, thematic roundtables, CSO-led partnership workshops, and youth-led initiatives, it provides a platform for policy dialogue that strengthens collaboration between local communities and global institutions. It also creates opportunities to share best practices, build strategic partnerships with Member States, and amplify the voice of civil society within the broader UN agenda.
At UEMCON'26, the UN Civil Society Conference simulation will provide a platform for individuals passionate about grassroots advocacy, policy dialogue, and multilateralism. It offers delegates a chance to experience diplomacy that drives real change, well beyond the walls of formal intergovernmental bodies.
