UNGA-DISEC
Disarmament and International Security Committee
DISEC or the Disarmament and International Security Committee, serves as the First Committee of the United Nations General Assembly. It was created so that all 193 member states could have a space to debate and figure out solutions to global threats to peace, arms control, and international security.
At a time when geopolitical tensions, regional conflicts, and evolving security threats continue to place the world on the precipice of uncertainty, the role of DISEC has become more significant than ever. Its efforts underscore the importance of multilateralism in a world where conflict in one region can have repercussions across continents.
At UEM Conclave of Nations’26, DISEC will challenge delegates to navigate the complexities of international security while balancing national interests with global responsibility. Through rigorous debate and heated discussions the delegates will analyse for solutions to some of the world's most pressing challenges, embodying the very principles of diplomacy that remain essential in preserving international peace and stability.
